Symbiotechs vs Biomimicry

In his book « The Living as a Model », Gauthier Chapelle considers different levels of biomimetical technologies in the light of the urgent need for sustainable solutions. He seems to admit that only the higher level of biomimetics, the ecosystemical biomimetics – that is, namely, agroecology – tends to meet the requirement for a sustainable future. Therefore, we suggest that biomimicry is not a sufficient definition and we propose the neologism « symbiotechs » in order to describe a culture of innovation based on the aknowledgement that humans are not the only ones involved in their production and knowledge processes. We discuss briefly the meaning of this evolution in modern science history.
